Artist Statement

I feel a strong connection with animals and my love for them is the inspiration for my artwork.

I am drawn to the joyful, lyrical spirit of animals whether it’s the dynamic energy of horses or the naughty nature of the raccoon who sneaks into my backyard at night.

Their personalities translate into bold, bright whirls and twirls of color and thick, yummy brushstrokes on my canvas.

My paintings are imbued with whimsy and wonder. They are vibrant, exuberant and full of fun.

I love quick splashes of color and thick, juicy brushstrokes.

My horse Tupelo Honey and the families of deer we encounter on our trail rides around Eldorado and Lamy, NM, are my muses as well as enriching both my art and my life.
