Artist Statement

My oil paintings are imbued with luscious, vibrant colors and thick, juicy brushstrokes.

The colors of New Mexico, both subtle and bold, drew me to Santa Fe over 20 years ago.

I am immersed in the play of light and shadow in the sky and landscape and I think, “well that will be amazing to paint”. Then I stare at my blank canvas and think, “how on earth am I going to paint those colors?”

Animals are also a passion (two of my great loves are my pup Sadie and Tupelo Honey, my spirited horse) and my pet portraits are filled with spunk and whimsy.
